Walgreens and the Election.

June 16th, 2008

I don’t know how I somehow connected these two events in my mind but they are. Everyone knows Black people love their hair for the most part, men and women alike. So I was in Walgreens getting something from the hair section. I got one product and then proceeded to the check out area. In most Walgreens there is the front/main checkout, and another checkout in the beauty section. In the BEAUTY section you’re supposed to go there mainly if you’re buying beauty products. Well this old white lady decided she’s going to fill her cart to the freaking brim, and get checked out in the beauty section.

Now the short story begins -

The old lady with her cart full to the brim is first up. Behind her is another white lady with 2 items, and behind her, is a Black man, we’ll call him imaG (me) with 1 item. The elderly white lady was so sweet, she realized it would be inconsiderate of her to make us wait, so she told the white lady to go ahead of her. The white lady replied, “Thank you!” all ecstatic and what not. So I figured hey I’ll get to go next! NOT! The old lady turned and looked at me like this…

Darkie!

…AND I’m guessing she saw a Black man and decided in her mind, “fu*k this nigga, his time don’t mean shi*t” and then she told me, “You know YOU should go up to the front!” The checker gave me a look like “just ignore her.” So the old lady took her sweet time getting checked out, and wrote a check instead of using cash to make my wait that much more agonizing. I managed to hold my tongue and not say anything to the old lady after all I figured she didn’t know any better. Common courtesy doesn’t extend past a persons skin color according to her. Oh well…

This is somewhat farfetched but for the Black people in the U.S., would you want someone of her generation to be President? I wouldn’t. So get up and go vote.

The main reason racism still exist today is because parents pass it to their children. They breed racism. I’ve read through a bunch of forums and have seen countless people proclaim, ”Hillary better win, otherwise I’m going to vote for McCain, I have a bad feeling about Obama.” I wonder how they feel now that Hillary is backing Obama…Do you think these so called Democrats would really vote Republican to make sure a Black man doesn’t make it to the Oval Office?

R Kelly is NOT Guilty.

June 14th, 2008

So…

CHICAGO (AP) — Singer R. Kelly has been found not guilty on the first 7 of 14 counts at a child pornography trial. The jury deliberated less than a day.

Kelly was charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl, who prosecutors say was as young as 13. If convicted, he faces a minimum of four years in prison and a maximum of 15 years. He would also have to register as a sex offender in Illinois.

The jury — nine men and three women — was given the case Thursday.

The key question for the jurors was whether they believe it was Kelly in the video, as prosecutors contend. Kelly’s attorneys say it wasn’t him.

Are they being lenient…or is the Pied Piper innocent? Judging from his past with Aaliyah, I wouldn’t put it past him. They have been cracking down on Black celebrities lately and giving them some jail-time (Wesley Snipes, Remy Ma) but I guess R. Kelly slipped out of the hands of the law.

I like a few songs on this CD (The Carter III) and I’m not even a big Wayne fan. But he has a joint on this CD named “Comfortable.” It’s produced by Kanye West and also features Babyface. I haven’t even listened to the whole CD but also listen to “Got Money” with T-Pain…You don’t have to download it if you don’t want to feel free to go buy it. Mr Carter is also a great track!!

Barack Obamas Fist Bump

June 6th, 2008

A Presidential Fist-Bump
by Mike Krumboltz
June 5, 2008 12:48:59 PM

It’s been a marathon. No, scratch that. It’s been an ultra marathon, this race for the Democratic nomination. So it’s no wonder that when Barack Obama finally claimed the right to represent his party, he couldn’t help but cut loose and celebrate with his wife, Michelle.

But instead of the expected hug and kiss on the cheek, the couple shared the “fist-bump heard ’round the world.” The exuberant gesture sparked big interest in the Buzz. Searches on “obama fist bump” soared across the country as major news outlets replayed and analyzed the moment. Several articles, including this one from the New York Daily News, explained that many folks found the bump a charming reminder that, as Senator Obama puts it, despite all the hoopla and stress, he and his wife still “do silly things.”

Of course, no one would dare presume that a simple fist-bump will elevate Senator Obama to the White House. But an article from New York Magazine speculates that the knocking of knuckles may go a long way toward proving that the aspiring commander-in-chief is actually kind of hip. When was the last time you could say that about a presidential candidate and keep a straight face?

Is it that big of a deal?

Barack Obama Wins - Yes We Can.

June 3rd, 2008

Did you hear about….

WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois sealed the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, a historic step toward his once-improbable goal of becoming the nation’s first black president. A defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton maneuvered for the vice presidential spot on his fall ticket.

Obama’s victory set up a five-month campaign with Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona, a race between a 46-year-old opponent of the Iraq War and a 71-year-old former Vietnam prisoner of war and staunch supporter of the current U.S. military mission.

McCain was plainly eager for the race to begin, and accused his younger rival of voting “to deny funds to the soldiers who have done a brilliant and brave job” in Iraq.

In remarks prepared for delivery in New Orleans, McCain agreed with Obama that the presidential race would focus on change. “But the choice is between the right change and the wrong change, between going forward and going backward,” he added.

The newly minted Democratic nominee-in-waiting arranged an evening appearance in St. Paul, Minn., sending McCain an unmistakable message by claiming his victory in the very hall where the Arizonan will accept his party’s nomination in early September.

Obama sealed his nomination, according to The Associated Press tally, based on primary elections, state Democratic caucuses and delegates’ public declarations as well as support from 19 delegates and “superdelegates” who privately confirmed their intentions t/o the AP. It takes 2,118 delegates to clinch the nomination at the convention in Denver this summer, and Obama had 2,128 by the AP count.

Now thats pretty damn cool, and about damn time. White people around the country are enraged…Hillary says she open to being Obamas VP, I don’t think he should. What do you think about that?

I think McCain is smiling inside right now…If Obama doesn’t have Hillary as his VP, who do you think he should go with?

White People Crack Me Up Pt. 5

June 3rd, 2008

Okay, now if you’re white your options are limited. If you’re surrounded by Black people, your options become even more limited. I don’t have much advice for you here because you can get two reactions. Black people who don’t care, and Black people who are highly offended. If the Black person is highly offended, you probably might want to burn off like this dude. You could always cut your tongue off though, then you won’t have to worry about words “slipping” out.

Anybody else got advice for this person?
